Joshilyn Jackson
was born and raised in the Florida
panhandle. She went to college, but dropped out in search of a career in
acting. She
worked in regional repertoire theatres and with a dinner theatre troupe.
After years of acting, Jackson
realized she wanted to write the plays more than she wanted to perform
them. She returned to college and earned a degree in English from
Georgia State University. She then
moved to Chicago and earned her Master's degree in English at the
University of Illinois.
After graduate school,
she returned to the South and settled down in Atlanta.
Her work has appeared
in TriQuarterly & Calyx, and FC2's anthology of up and
coming women writers. Her children's play Another Snow White, was
produced by the Players in Atlanta.
Joshilyn Jackson is married
with two children. They live in Atlanta.
